MIDWEST UPDATE 2010

The Midwest School Social Work Council is a consortium of eleven Midwestern State School Social Work Associations. They are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. This 43 year old organization has as its purpose, the development of school social work services in the Midwest and throughout the United States. The Midwest Council is the oldest, regional school social work organization in the United States. Because of its proactive role, it is regarded as a major role in the development of the profession.

The 43rd Midwest School Social Work Conference was held in Bloomington, MN. from October 7 - 9, 2010. It was hosted by the School Social Work Association of Minnesota in conjunction with the Midwest Council. Their theme was "Shopping for all Students Success". The next Midwest Conference will be held in Indianapolis in 2011.
