MIDWEST UPDATE 2009
The Midwest School Social Work Council is a consortium of eleven Midwestern State School Social Work Associations. They are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. This 41 year old organization has as its purpose, the development of school social work services in the Midwest and throughout the United States. The Midwest Council is the oldest, regional school social work organization in the United States. Because of its proactive role, it is regarded as a major role in the development of the profession.
The 41st Midwest School Social Work Conference was held in St Louis, MO on September 18 - 20, 2008. It was hosted by the School Social Work Association of Missouri in conjunction with the Midwest Council. Their theme was "School Social Workers Lift Kids to Success".
