PRESIDENT'S NOTE 2010
Greetings!
We have had another year of rocky beginnings - record snowfalls across the State of Kentucky and the nation, with many of us missing quite a few days of school. Also the earthquake in Haiti was unbelievable and there is still plenty to be done to help them rebuild their country.

Kentucky Association for School Social Work
There will always be a need for those of us in social work to lend a helping hand to others and we are always up for the challenge! KASSW is undertaking a new endeavor this Fall as we team up with the Ohio School Social Work Association to plan a joint conference in Florence, KY. at the Hilton Hotel in September. It is going to be an exciting event and a groundbreaking collaboration between the two States. We can pool our resources to bring a better State Conference which would benefit both of our memberships. Florence, KY. seems to be a good central location between the two states. The conference brochure is now available on the website for you to download and register for the conference. We hope to see you there!
On a final note, I want to remind you to join KASSW if you have not yet done so. We have representatives that sit on the Midwest SSW Council where many legislative issues are discussed that may affect Kentucky in one way or another. There is so much going on behind the scenes to try to make change for SSW's as we all pursue our careers on a daily basis. We need your representation, your involvement and your meaningful ideas. We cannot function without the support of our SSW colleagues. I challenge you to GET INVOLVED!
